Requesters can then print or email search results pulled from this online portal. The Instant Search option is available to everyone and costs $24 per record payable by credit card. It offers multiple options for obtaining criminal history reports. The Division of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) maintains all criminal history information for the state and provides public access to its database. The five-year crime trend for Volusia County reveals that murder (12.5%), aggravated assault (5.9%), and motor vehicle theft (0.4%) rates rose.On the other hand, rape (30.2%), robbery (23.8%), burglary (35.8%), and larceny (12.8%) rates fell between 20. Cases of property crimes include 2,368 burglaries, 10,833 larcenies, and 1,068 motor vehicle thefts. A breakdown of the 2017 crime numbers for the county shows that there were 27 murders, 113 rapes, 308 robberies, and 1,586 aggravated assaults. Compared to the 2013 total, this figure represents a 15.2% dip in overall crime rate. There were a total of 16,303 crimes reported in Volusia County in 2017, the most recent year with a complete set of crime data. ![]()
